HR Business Partner V3

Shaping a 'NEW' Direction

24&25 May 2012, MUMBAI | 29 & 30 May 2012, BANGALORE | 07 & 08 June 2012, GURGAON

Dear HR Collegues.

Regardless of job titles, the role of HR has constantly been evolving in line with the challenges in the global, competitive, market environment. It has been well accepted for some time that Human Resource Management needs to play a more strategic role in the success of an organisation. Within this changing environment HR professionals have to evolve:

• To become a Strategic Partner within the organization
• Adopt an Evidence-Based approach to their decision making
• Feel confident and comfortable handling Human Capital Analytics

Being an effective Business Partner requires a new mindset and a new set of skills, built around a consultative approach, and drawing on the credibility to influence at a senior level and to think strategically.

I am pleased to inform you that Inconnectiva Conference & Trainings India is partnering The Strategist & Knowledge Nexus India, in conducting 'The HR Business Partner V-3.0 Master Class" Series 2012 .

Drawing on Inconnectiva's & The Strategist 2011 research this new programme will help you develop the skills and behaviour necessary for your HR role to significantly contribute to the success of your organisation.

This highly interactive and innovative workshop equips attendees with the knowledge, tools and techniques to improve the deliverables within their existing HR Business Partner role.

COURSE OVERVIEW

It is now just over a decade since HR business partnering began to shake the foundations of the traditional HR delivery model, prompting us to investigate how successful this has proved and the factors that have contributed to success.

The concept of HR business partnering came to the fore as a result of the work of Dave Ulrich. In his 1997 book Human Resource Champions5, Ulrich described a model for HR and a way of working that could enable the function to make a more significant contribution to the organisation. He describes a model based on the challenges that he believed businesses would be facing in the future, and on his experiences of working with many HR functions and professionals in the USA and internationally. Interestingly, the business challenges outlined by Ulrich in 1997 heralded the decade of economic growth that we have all experienced.

Being an effective Business Partner requires a new mindset and a new set of skills, built around a consultative approach, and drawing on the credibility to influence at a senior level and to think strategically.

Being a Business Partner does not just mean understanding the business but helping to shape it, giving it an edge and capability that less sure-footed competition fail to achieve. The simple but crucial difference between the vast majority of HR practitioners and real Business Partners is that whatever skills, tools or methods the practitioner has at their disposal the Business Partner will always show a direct and demonstrable connection to business impact and company performance.

This is why the role of the Business Partner has assumed such importance in recent years.

Business partnering by HR professionals is a topic that has had a long pedigree, predating, but then given powerful voice by Ulrich and his colleagues.

Many HR functions, if not currently operating with HR business partners, are considering whether, or how to do it. Moreover, now that we face a period of quite fundamental strategic challenge, as the Credit Crunch morphs itself in many sectors beyond a simple downturn in business towards a fundamental challenge of the basic business model, it is time to ask whether HR functions have done enough in establishing sound structures and business partner capability, or are they still refining their own operating model at a time when the expectation from their CEO, and line managers under pressure, is for the function to already be elivering on the promise of its value in these difficult times?

The focus of this, programme will be heavily directed to achieving a practical, realistic, beneficial and successful outcome.

Why should you attend?

Many organisations have implemented an HR Business Partner organisational model, due to stakeholders' requirement that HR takes a proactive role in both supporting current business needs and anticipating future business direction. Research has however confirmed that the HR Business Partner model has rarely delivered the full 'value added' activities it promised. One reason is HR BP's receiving little or no training on how to be 'strategic' or 'change experts'. Another reason is often the poor championing of the HR BP role inside the organisation, resulting on unchanged expectation from line managers. Unless HR can ensure that their HR BP's have role clarity, the skills and the attitude to deliver real added value, the credibility of the entire function is at stake

Turning 'Theory' into 'Practice'?

This highly interactive and innovative workshop equips attendees with the knowledge, tools and techniques to improve the deliverables within their existing HR Business Partner role. It will also have a strong positive impact on their personal skills and HR Business Partner proficiency. Participants will be encouraged and supported to build a personal development plan for future success.
